Lusted after Les Pauls for more than a decade, I'm finally in a financial place where I can make it work without having to go hungry for a few weeks. So, I took the plunge and bought a used 2018 LP Tribute in Honeyburst (you'll note that despite my newfound financial stability, I stayed on the cheaper end of the LP spectrum ). All is good with the guitar. Plays and sounds just as I imagined. I love its look, its feel, and the sort of no-nonsense, stripped-down, Les-Paul-at-its-core vibe that the Tributes give off. As this is one of the cheaper Pauls, I expected some corners to be cut in the fit and finish department. I didn't, however, expect the Gibson logo to look like it was printed on the headstock with a sh*tty dot matrix printer from the 80s. Exhibit A: What gives? Is this typical? Anyone out there with a Tribute who wants to share a similar photo, I'd love to compare!
