I'm definitely not trying to price-compete with Gibson. I just thought that "outrageously expensive" was a bit extreme of a jab.

    Agreed.
You are not outrageously expensive. Especially for what you produce.

The main issue for burstbucker is that it's way more expensive than a set of seth lover over here in Singapore.

    It's $169 for bb1 while 189 for bb2... Adding it up would be $358

While seth lover would only cost $270... It's not 23 bucks more... It's about 90 more over here...

Considering that as a student... Those extra money could get me a good pedal or something else so that why I said it as outrageously expensive haha! (Asian blood is strong in me)

And i can't find any second hand too so that's another issue...

the more I started to learn about pups, I realized the less I knew. that began with thinking one magnet was this way and another magnet was that way. I have A2s that will take the top of your head off and I have A5s that will shake the foundations. there are a lot of factors at play.

get with a winder like Manlius or Brandonwound or ReWind or whoever looks interesting to you and start by describing your goals with words like "thick, creamy and smooth" and let them figure out how to get there.

considering what gibson passes for pickups these days, I'd say they are the ones outrageously expensive...

with you (based on my readings here), you get even better than what you are paying for.
