I really love my tube amps, but these sure do look very interesting.

Never heard one but it's only a matter of time before they get these modelling processors right on the money.

I'll be really interested in what you think after you've had a good tinker with it. :hmm:

I'll make some more this weekend, its gonna take me awhile to dig into this thing, you can change virtual transformers, bias, cabs, amps, mics, sag ...the list goes on and on.:laugh2:

I dl'd some cool patches, but no way to load them yet..my midi interface should be here friday.

violin patch a guy made that i downloaded, these are not made to try to sound like different instruments, but you can create just about any sound you want with them if you take the time.

Still cheaper than eventide stuff and all the studio guys that i look up to say its on par in the effect section.
I actually got it for the effects, but i can see i am going to be using a lot of these amp sims as well.

so far i am pretty impressed, i didnt actually expect it to feel and react like a tube amp.
Z Zappa is using them now too, he replaced that big ass analog rig of his with two axe fx ultras.

He is now using it here in the states as well.

Congrats and welcome to the club! :thumb:

I've had my Axe FX since February and I smile every time I plug in. You'll be exploring for a while, and the learning curve is steep at first. Do yourself a favor and register at the Fractal Audio board - lots of experienced users there to help you out.

Now you need a MIDI interface for your PC so you can use the PC editor and load new firmware when it's issued.

You have just stepped into sonic joy and it's about time I had a fellow Axe FX user here!

The Axe FX IS on the money.........................

Plays like a real tube amp - clean and pretty with volume down / soft pick attack, growls when you get on it. Sounds great - rich and full. No digital noise, hiss, can of bees, or harshness. Fractal Audio hit it out of the park with the Axe FX.

I've had mine for six months now and absolutely love it! :D

Then you are well on your way!

I also use a Midisport 2x2. Do you have the Standard or Ultra?

    I have a Standard.

How do you intend to run it? FOH / FRFR? Or through a cab? I run mine through a Mesa 4x12 in stereo with a SS power amp. It sounds excellent at gigs. :D

Right now running through a fender power amp into two splawn cabs, more than likely will also DI to FOH.
If my guitar sells on ebay i am going to upgrade my power amp and transfer everything to my shock mount rack.

have any good patches i should check out ?

    Nice looking rig!

I had a couple of patches uploaded to the old Axechange, but I haven't been to the new site yet. I have a rather nice JCM800 patch that I just might have to upload.
