I had to pimp every MIJ to come in the Goldtop direction, the Orville by Gibson with T-Tops and all othe changed hardware was the closest. Except the Greco EGF-1200, i had three of them and all were brilliant. At some point i think it was a big mistake to let two of them go, but they were almost equal, so i kept the one with the most scars. Right now it changes a lot, but my personal top list 1. Old Gibson GT 2. Gibson Kossoff 3. Greco/Sandy 4. Orville 5. 72`Gibson Deluxe 6. Gibson CC 1 7. Old Gibson Custom I promise to make some useable sound files, i ordered today a recording "thing" and these days a buddy is going to help me using this stuff. So, what i say go for a MIJ, buy a light Orville by Gibson Plaintop, change the bridge, stoptail, pots and get some t-tops (even mid 70s) and you should have a killer axe. If you have the budget, go and try a CC6 or CC7. I just can say what kinda experiences i had, just real personal ones, do not buy a LP before 2012.
