Thanks! We do try to hit it out of the park with each release and update!
Didn't know IK had an account on MLP! Pretty cool!
Gee, wonder how much the screen protectors cost.

I got V-Control pro for my iPad It seems to do all that would be useful on the giant touch screen for $50.00. I guess I saved $2,450.00
So of course, to build hype, they act like this has never been done before.
What probably hasn't been done before is that kind of device at that price tag.
The only thing that hasn't been done is the large screen. They could have done themselves a favor and use a higher resolution display and made it an all in one solution. All this thing is, is another interface. You still need a computer with DAW software. This is an accessory, that's all.
Give me an all-in-one solution for recording and live sound and I might be interested. This is nothing special. This is the Segway of music production.
If they'd put it on top of a custom REAPER build or some such thing with some good plugins, complete with a nice set of mic and line inputs with a high quality low latency audio device AND done it for under a grand - it would still be a big bulky thing but at least it would be useful as a mobile recording tool. Or you could just use a laptop with a 16 channel FireWire or USB 3 interface and still save some $$.
I'm currently using a PreSonus StudioLive to mix live sound and pull a multitrack recording from the board in realtime. It's fully digital on it's own. When the computer is plugged in, my iPad can control the board over wifi. Frankly, it's a lot more convenient than a 50" display. It's got all my inputs, built in EQ and processing, multitouch via ipad and physical faders on the board.
Thanks! I'll have to hang around more often now!
It's the droid you were looking for.
Pass. I like my existing digital system
I, for one, am willing to study up on this new product and refrain from bashing it before I know anything about it. Looking forward to demo one soon.
It still needs a wired connection to your daw computer. You'd think they would have I the grated some sort of wireless option...
Here's the new Avid S6. Looks like a much better option.
Ummmm, sure...yeah. Great option if you do Pro Tools and have $20,000-$50,000 in spare cash.
Hey if you wanna make an omlette you gotta break a few thousand eggs.
OK, so I watched this video describing what this (and the higher end version) can do, and I have to say in a medium to large scale Pro Tools based studio this thing might be a great thing to have. Have a look.
