This is my son, Ryan (14) and my first time actually recording tracks. Ryan is on vocals and drums. I am on bass, rhythm and lead guitar. We learned as we went and left the mistakes in. What a blast! We don't have a real mic for vocals, it is a mic from 1976 that I had with my first cassette recorder. :)

It was a great learning experience and different from anything else I have done with my son. It was a really fun collaboration. Ryan did a semester with School of Rock and has already played in public with that group. He can play some bass and guitar but really likes the drums, so here we are.

We just did this song as a trial run to see what we could do. We were inspired to share, thanks to all the clips everyone else shares here, especially Frank, who puts himself out there frequently.

    Oh and Merry Christmas all!

Very nice! I personally enjoy the live performances so to speak, being that the human factor always comes into play eventually. Just great!

I'll take raw low-fi every day over the new sterile cpu assisted crap.

Part of the charm with Neil Young and Crazy Horse for me over the years.

We'll done and a HUGE thanks for building a story that years from now will begin with...

    "My dad and I..."

The performance may have been raw, but we were using modeling to record our tracks down. No modifying to the sound post recording. Thank you.

I think wildhawk may been referring to the tricks used in studios today to correct minor flaws, clams or off tune singing and not speaking against modelling.

When we did this, I told Ryan I didn't want to do any post effects, time shifting crap, or any trickery. Wildhawk, Ryan thought you meant that we didn't auto-tune his singing, so he took it as a compliment. :) We also laughed as I referenced Young a few times during the making of it.

We both could mess up just as good live. :) :) :)

Mrs. AmpedUp is involved with community theater. I dig it. The whole live aspect is amazing! I'd keep it just as real as that performance was if it were me. :applause:
