Andre and Marcus have their amps profiled. Show was great :thumb: other than that I'm lost how they're still using them with tube amps?

But no, you said they were using them for effects. Not exactly, Saxon are not using the JVMs for their drive and cleans. Just power. The full stacks look cool on stage. Especially four of them

I am very intrigued by these, I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing more reviews. The video from Anderton's was probably one of the better ones that I've seen so far.

If they can rival Fender's popular Mustang series they will definitely have a hit on their hands.

I wish these and others were more widely available as heads in the lower wattage models.

Maybe I'm a much smaller minority in the market than I think I am, but I can't help but think there's a bunch of guys like me out there who are "adult" bedroom players who have the cabinet they want but are always willing to try a different head with it.
I have no desire to have another 10" combo with a second tier speaker in it laying around, but would hit "add to cart" on a smaller 25W head without even thinking about it.

IE: A Blackstar HT5R is an amp I have zero desire to own, but I doubt I'll ever part with my HT5RH.

Pop. When talking SS amps low wattage is not an issue any more because the amp does not generate it's saturated tone by bleeding volume and maxed out tubes. So any wattage head will be fine for you.

I'd like to replace my 12" Mustang 2 with the 12" Code from this line. That'd be sweet.

I'm still keeping my JVM410h, though. I probably still won't use it.

The more I hear of the CODE, the more I think it is a great amp. I think I'll be recommending this one when people interesting in modelling are looking for direction. The vid by Chappers and the Captain had some good sounds.

For all you silly, ignorant Americans out there like me, I converted the measurements on the 100W head

    23.22 X 8.27 X 11.8 24lbs

Wow, the 50w for $250.00 seems like a really good bang for your buck.
Hell, a single pedal can cost that.

I definitely see one in my future.

I watched this and really thought the cleans were impressive! When they switched to heavier tones they totally lost me. I'll be waiting for a more comprehensive review with more tones on the heavier side.

yeah the higher gain demo's have been on the dark side but not too bad, but this new demo the high gain sounds awful!
I am hoping the amp can me tweaked for more high end
    sparkle with high gain.

    Haha!

That looks just a tiny bitter.

    Seriously.

I have that amp. And with a speaker swap out, WGS Retro 10 - 65 watts, its one of the ballsier sounding amps I have and its going up against a Mesa cab and a Marshall 4x12. Thing shakes the floor on 3. I go any louder and it pisses off the neighbors.

I actually thought the same thing about the Fender Mustang series, because of just about every "demo" vid I watched.

Now that I own one (a Mustang v2, that I got as a gift), I couldn't have been more wrong.

Now, that being said, I definitely wouldn't go out and buy one myself, but they're definitely not as "bad" as most people make them sound. A little tweaking here and there, and they can sound really great.

The only drawback, as I'm a "traditionalist" at heart, is the constant need to upgrade the software. Hell, I've only owned this thing for a little over a year, and have already updated it about 8 times.

I once asked Frankv about what Marshall amp I should get. Frankv told me that I should get the Lead 12 for what I do. I think Frankv gave me good advice at that time, but I think that time has passed. Marshall Lead 12's are going for $200 to $250 or more. They are going for more money than the Lead 20. I think with the Marshall Code coming out, I would be better off getting a Code 25 or Code 50. New amp and a warranty. More than 1 tone so I don't get bored (one of Frankv's new sayings). Now I just need to decide to get the 25 or 50.

I never got the Lead 12. Now I think I am glad I waited because I think I am going to like the Code 25 or 50.
