Hey guys I got the list situated and ordered by the year. I'm sending up the first movie shortly.

Also can we please ditch the Rosie Odonnel pics? I know they're posted for humor but having to scroll past that face multiple times today is just nauseating.

Kris, The Ghoul was always on late.
Even for my dumb teen-age ass.
Ninth-grade for me. Fingers were hurting all the time, as the guitar-playing light came on.
Monster week on Channel 7 is one of my fondest memories.
    "Son of Godzilla" just ruled.

Ok movie is up. I'll add a new one this Friday.

I went with the original Gojira because I figured there's a chance many have already seen it, so there's less pressure to watch it before it gets pulled on Friday. But then maybe a lot of people saw the American version and not the original version,..which are subtly different versions since the US one cut out about 1/3 of the original movie and added some comedy to it while almost completely removing some of the social commentaries.

Also being a fan of giant monsters, the original Godzilla seemed like a good way to start this project. A blessing from the King of Monsters. Sort of like smashing champagne on a ship for its maiden voyage.

Hope you enjoy. I wrote a little synopsis and some interesting facts about the movie underneath the link.

Hopefully this Creature Feature project will be fun for all involved.

I'm wondering if Friday shouldn't be a newer movie. Like kind of go back and forth, newer, older, newer, older. Just to keep things from feeling like too much of the same week after week.

as it is a ton of the list is Godzilla and I think I'll find some more movies for the list just so that so many of them aren't Godzilla movies.

I'll look around and see what I can find. I'm enjoying the project and some of the suggestions made. I've already put quite a few of the movies mentioned into the list.

:hmm: ....Jaws probably qualifies. The Shark is a creature,...sorta...

someone mentioned Creepshow which at first I thought, "nah not a creature movie" but then I remembered, the thing in the arctic box,..or the plant/meteor monster,..both would definitely qualify as creatures.

By the way, I saw about half of those when they were brand new. Some in B&W in the theater.

I'll read up on them and put a couple on the list. The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms has my attention because I know it's one of the movies that started the Kaiju genre. It gets mentioned in a lot of articles.

    And 'Them!' sounds familiar.

Not all the movies will be Black&White but I bet you'd still like a lot of them. :thumb:

Pacific Rim has got to have the most dumbass storyline of any movie! But, I can't count the number of times I've watched it.

Humans are unable to effectively kill the Kaiju with conventional weapons. So, they build giant robots that level entire cities while fighting the Kaiju. And then once the cities are destroyed the giant robots kill the Kaiju by shoot them with rockets (which is what the airplanes were doing without leveling the cities in the process).

but airplanes can't punch the Kaiju in the face with rocket powered fists.

and if Mazinga Z taught us anything it's that it's all about the rocket powered fist!
