SHO's are easy. What I have in mind is kinda like the Katana boost. Similar principle.
If I do it, I will do a run of say, 10. I can knock something like this out in about a month (counting paint curing time). The parts list is FAR smaller and I'm considering a dual sided board. Cuts the soldering time WAY down this way.
I am really loving the pedal. Is it comparable to a TS808 in the type of pedal it is?
Looks AWESOME, Josh. Thank you!
Yes and no. This is a bit more of a 'transparent' 808. Less noise and can be used a both a boost and a dirt pedal.
It should arrive tomorrow according to USPS.
Next build update...that makes three who are in. I'll make an announcement in a week or so once I sit down and figure out specifics. last I checked, the cost per is not more than $75 shipped (to US destinations). I'd rather spend a few extra bucks this time and get double sided boards...makes wiring FAR easier on my end.
What type of pedal is the next build?
Boost along the lines of a Keeley Katana. I love that pedal so I've made one up thats similar in process.
In! That's some crazy timing.
I popped in to say I feel bad about taking my pedal and running. Been so damn busy that I just plugged it in for the 2nd time today. It's amazing!! The dynamics are beautiful. I know many pedals have the dynamics that separate them from most others. This one is that special.
Here it is plugged into my practice amp in my living room. A quick shot with my phone. My 4 year old walked in and said "dad, are you playing a concert?". Ironically I was riffin Tool with a thick ass blues tone.
^ Josh is building a Klon with the same paint job as your Zen KingB - I dig it
Imagine the day (some day soon) a Klon and zendog by... the Dog, arrives at the doorstep
Thats going to be a good one
"Klon and zendog"? Killer!! Josh did a great job on the paint too. He's a pro. I'll hop on every build for the paint alone.
Another build??? Of course I'm in!
If there' another group build, there best be a new thread so it's not missed! I still have to get my two put together...
We were talking enclosures a while back Josh, any updates?
I'm more worried about missing a new thread. At least I'm subscribed here.
Hows the pedal saga Josh, are we close to done
Yep. I just reshot your yellow bee yesterday morning before the chase went down.
Graphic tomorrow. Clear the next day...then wait and MAIL. That 'lady' graphic, while simple, was a huge bitch to get settled out where it won't interfere with the knobs.
Plus that "porting" bit I sent you shots of earlier. That was a first for me.
I haven't made one yet. I knew I would be busy the past 12 days since I last posted. Had to fill in a pool and do some demo work at my other house (sad day...filling in the pool I grew up in) and then of course my photography thing. Since storm season around here has pretty much been a complete bust...moving back to pedal building mode.
Details to follow by the end of the week on the next gig. Same perimeters. I've taken note several of you guys have already said you were in for it so I'm considering that in terms of 'who gets what.' It will be limited to 10 orders. That means 10 people. If one person orders 50 pedals (unlikely but hey, if you want it, I'l' build it) then that leaves 9 others in line. If there is enough interest in a second run, I'm cool with that. I expected to be gone all summer but thats not happening now (thats a VERY good thing)
Great, thanks Josh!
