Yeah. His tone is so sweet. The kind of tone that makes the goosebumps appear.
Next time I'm gonna take a closer look at his effects board, and maybe see if I can play his R8 before their sound check.
I might bring my R9 or R7, and see what he thinks of it.
Maybe get his sig on the pickguard? Or control plate cover?
That would be cool!
Hey Mike. Been playing your CD since I got it. Awesome player, great talent.
Actually my R9 pickguard has an autograph...Tom Petersson, the bass player from Cheap Trick. Met him at the Nashville guitar show a few years back.
Still...I think he'd enjoy my R9.
That is the first time I've heard him... that's some of the best playing I've heard in my young life, it's just perfect. Think I might have a new idol
You couldn't pick a better blues player to emulate. Very down-to-earth guy, and will sit and talk anytime...he loves to eat as well.
I like the song Fire and Water of the new album.
I saw Michael at The Chicago Blues Festival in Grant Park a number of years ago. I was walking through the main area when I suddenly heard someone rippin' on a Strat to my left. I immediately headed that way and stayed there until his set was through. I didn't know who Michael Burks was at the time, but man, he was good. Best act I saw while I was there, and there were some good ones.
That would be pretty cool if he dropped by!
EDIT TO ADD: Damn! I just saw his schedule and noticed he played at BB Kings in WPB...on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Rats! I could have gone....
Bummer...that would have been an awesome birthday, I would think.
how cool is that...
Greetings from Germany,
Very cool, indeed. Next time he rolls through STL I hope to get an interview with lots of pictures for MLP.
Just got back from Michaels show in Santa Cruz last night.. OH MY GOD what a freakin SHOW!! Absolutely staggering!
You know your bad ass when you have 2 100w DrZ amps, both running into seperate 2x12 cabs THEN you mic it in maybe 1000sqft room LOL.
AWESOME show, go see him whenever he's near you. Couldn't be a nicer guy on the planet to boot!
Awesome, Doug...did you bring one of your guitars for him to play?
Michael might have left with two them I'm seeing him again tomorrow night (and having dinner with him ) can't WAIT
Nice...he's a foodie, just like me. LOL
Good luck with the sales, I'm sure he'll dig those guitars!
Yep... he did
Man what an incredible show again last night. If he's ANYWHERE near you, go see him. His band is freaking incredible!
