I'm currently using the EHX Mmeory Toy, just curious as to what are some other great compact delay boxes, analog or digital. Just a quick subject to start my first ever thread on this forum! :laugh2:

    Mod edit:

you didn't say it will be 6 threads in less than 24 hours...

Whammy V > Wilson wah in true bypass loop > Joyo Compressor > Gigrig Pro14 switching system, which has in loops: Violet Ram's head clone > Bugg dual powerbooster clone > EHX freeze and superego in same loop > Boss CE-2, BF-2 and Mooer Phase 90 in same loop > Korg SDD-3000 pedal and Strymon El Capistan in same loop > Strymon BigSky > Gigrig out to amp

it's easier to control than it looks

    My current Rig;

Guitar --> Korg Pitchblack Pro Rack Tuner --> un-buffered input of GCX switcher --> Big Muff --> buffered input of pedal switcher --> Boss SD-1 --> Wampler Cranked AC --> Tweaker Triple Wreck Clone --> MIJ Boss GE-7 EQ --> Strymon El Capistan --> MIJ Boss BF-2 Flanger --> TC G Major --> DTS SDD-3000 Pre-amp pedal --> Soul Tramp Serenity 50-watt Amp

All controlled by a Voodoo Labs GCP with Mission Engineering Expression Pedal.

The dirt section is about to undergo a massive change with the removal of the SD-1 and Triple Wreck and the addition of a BuGGfx FET Drive/Powerboost dual pedal, Mojo Hand Iron Bell and a Buffalo Effects Patriot. I'm also adding a SDD-2000 delay unit to the rack.

I've got a Memory Toy as well. As it's the only delay I've used I can't claim to be an authority, but it works for my needs.

    Boss DD-7

Good selection of delay types, stereo in/out, tap tempo and external expression control.

I use a MXR Carbon Copy for Analog and a TC Flashback for Digital. Very satisfied with both of them. :dude:

There are so many flavors of delay it's not possible to cite only one as "best".

My top picks (of ones that I've tried personally):

    Catalinbread Echorec
    Wampler Faux Tape Echo
    MXR Carbon Copy
    Malekko Ekko 616
    Way Huge Auqa Puss

    Yet to try:

    Catalinbread Belle Epoch
    Catalinbread Montevillian
    Strymon El Capistan
    Skreddy Echo
    list goes on...

Looking into purchasing one for a gig I'm doing soon where I'm going to need a Riot-esque gainy sound. I've already owned and gigged with a Joyo Tremolo, and very temporarily recorded with a Vintage Overdrive (the TS-9 clone). Does anyone have this pedal?

    Cheers,
    Hayden :laugh2:

    Hey MLP Community,

I just wanted to know what you guys thought of my rig. Now keep in mind, I'm still in high school, so I don't have all the money in the world to spend on pedals, amps, guitars etc. However, I would like your honest opinions on the quality of this rig, and whether you personally would gig it. Just because I'm curious and would like a serious evaluation of my rig.

    Guitars:
'13 Epiphone Les Paul Plustop PRO
    '14 Fender Standard Stratocaster

    Amps:
    Orange Micro Terror
    Orange PPC112 x2

    Pedals:
    Boss MT-2
    MXR Distortion lll
    Boss DS-1
    Boss CE-5
    EHX Memory Toy
Boss GT-10 Multi Effects (for my main modulation, reverb, looping needs)

Thanks everybody, and have a great day.

    Cheers,
    Hayden :laugh2:

    I use two.

    Marshall EH- Echohead for:
Choice of delay: digital/hi-fi, analog, tape, multi-tape, reverse (if you can use it), mod filter (interresting).
    Stereo
    Bypass or Spill-over
    Tap tempo
    Small Size
    Ridiculous price

The only flaw is the non readable knobs, not easy in dalight, impossible in live situation. You need to be set up properly in advance and it is not easy to play with it during shows (unless you are fortunate to have a tech pedaling for you).

    EHX Memory Toy for:
    Its geat analog tone
    No nonsense easy of use
That is the one I use the most.
    Or in combination with the EH-1 when I feel watery/crazy...add the small clone and you're "alien like...alien like...lien like...ien like...n like...like...ike...ike...k...k...k..."

Hey look at that, you found the New Thread button!

You obviously play heavier music. Seems like a rockin setup for that. As far as evaluating, MXR makes a few rockin metal pedals that put the MT-2 to shame and they're not too pricey. You should check some out.
Like Heisenberg said, I also didn't have anything like that when I was in High School so, good start.

You are off to a great start! I dunno about the 'gigability' of the Micro Terror without throwing a mic in front. If you were to upgrade, I would suggest a more versatile amp for home and gigging use.
