Pretty much ready to glue the neck back on. Weasel, the grain filler did not work, the joint is to tight and it has nothing to stick to, trying epoxy now since it will be solid black anyway. Will let you know how that goes. Sorry for all the delays, I am a computer guy by day and have been working on an Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016 migration for the company I work for. 16k total mailboxes!

Weasel, the epoxy worked! The liquid epoxy seeped into the joint, once cured it sanded without leaving the joint. The grain filler just did not have enough to hold onto. Good thing it will be a solid color though, not pretty! LOL

Grain filling, ugh, not my favorite! but will make it good. A few updated pics. Mixing the filler is a pain in the butt! Have to get it right though. Anyone have suggestions for a good premixed filler?

Next up Bluesax, after finishing the grain filling, this has taken some time as I have a day job and this needed 3 fills, will be gluing the neck on. I will post pictures of the jig etc. After that a break as I need to build a paint booth. This will be painted black and I cannot have a spec of dust. Money will be the key on this part. Not sure what I will build yet. Has to be temporary but dust free.

Max, can you paint inside? I found a print for a super easy "booth" that consisted of some plastic sheeting a box fan, air conditioner filter and some pc pipe... Basicly the guy built a shower stall with a hook. Ill look for the link.

I can do it in the garage and I have seen those posts. May try that, just want to make sure I have good intake and exhaust so I don't catch fire! LOL! NO Dust! Painted a black strat before, was not bad, but dust was an issue. only a couple of specs, but showed u very bad!
