Sorry, I have been real busy with work. I have been shooting pics and will post soon if anyone wants to see. Had some set back and fixes, but mostly busy with the day job. Thank You for checking it out for sures!
We need more pics!
Keep em coming, Love checking out your work, Nice clean jobs here.
I have been Busy with work, here are a few updates. Finished binding the headstock but have a few rough spots from cutting the channel to fix, no big deal. Just time consuming. Every mistake teaches something new in repair ;-)
Removed the binding and used thicker binding since I am going with single ply. Maybe I will try and make multi-ply in the future. Made a jig to clamp the binding around the horn, tough spot to use tape, never seems to hold tight enough. Here is a pic of the parts stuck together to have a look
Finishing up the finger board and using the new mini table to trim the binding. Need to do the side dots as well. left a couple thousandths width on the binding for final trim once glued to the neck. Easier to take a little off than to put it back!
Thank you Sir!
Wow, what an awesome project.
Okay been away, for 5 months taking care of work and got married! Now back to it. Working on a custom headstock inlay, have cut several and maybe someday in the distant future I will give up completely, but as for now, I am trying to have one cut for me ;-) Anyone know of a good way to fill witness lines from plugging a P90 hole? Having trouble with that. Will have more pics soon, sorry no update, been getting hitched etc.
Here is the first whack at one from pearled and two M's from MOP. Need to be more patient. Cut slow young skywalker... Here is a sample with a finger for size comparison. Crappy but I am trying
Never seen something like this done before...really cool looking so far!
Did NOT even think of that! Awesome Weasel! Thanks!
No problemo brother! Keep up the good work!
So, it has been awhile since I have posted an update. Busy time at work. Thank So Very much to tulsah I have an Awesome Headstock logo and here is the progress. A couple of binding repairs and the neck goes back on the body. Next up paint. Anyone have any recommendation for building a temporary spray booth? This will be black and I know that every spec of dust will show.
Had to do a little binding repair, good thing I keep all the scraps for "Just such an Emergency!"
Glued the fret board on and have the 6/6 nut material from our Canadian friend Tom. Had some run out to clean up. Good thing I have a good set of chisels!
