Hard work, well long work... But almost complete on the headstock channel. Maybe this evening... Here it is so far... about a 64th off on one side, will most likely go ahead and clean that up with the Dremal :)

I'm a firm believer in recycling/repurposing. Will be following the thread to see the end result.:fingersx:

Finally, the headstock binding channel is complete. A few nicks and scratches but, the last pic has the stuff for an easy fix on that issue :)

Gluing the neck binding on using a simple jig to hold it firm until set.

Looking very good! Dumb question - why remove the neck? Is it essential / are you changing the angle or just it does make some of the other work easier?

Hi Tolm, it make routing the binding channel on the body much easier and keeps me fro dinging up the edge of the neck where the new fingerboard will glue on. Also easier to fit the fingerboard and binding to the neck. At least for me.

I always put some aluminum foil down before gluing the binding to the neck fret board. Its much easier to peel the foil off the bottom of the fret board than to pry the board off the jig :)

Gluing on the headstock binding, gonna have a few things to fix, but overall, I think it's going pretty well for my first try. Nut fits tight, happy with that.. The end is gonna be tough I think

    Thanks for the Like Dixie!
