Cat was *not* the vision of kitty wanting attention and rubbing on my leg, that I had.

Damn it!!! And, I said I wasn't gonna touch that line <sigh>

    LOL!

Yea, That Kind of Feminine attention has derailed whole bands......but then again its why we play the blues....

Nah... the wife was fast asleep and OFF LIMITS....:( so it was me and the LP, the computer and the smart A** CAT....

But there is something to say about cats and energies, they have abilities that stupefy humans, and its all survival.

Come to think of it you can hear me shoo her away in the recording, there are three frustrated/angry chords near the end. And I was reacting to her intrusion.

That was pretty good. I really liked your tone and I could easily hear the chord changes in the solo. It seems everybody is doing a pretty good job at mixing with this track, as you did a pretty good job with that too. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I tend to get stuck in the box with solo's. I had to spend some time exploring where else I could go before laying this one down.

There is a way out of "the box" 5 notes....especially with the minor chords.

lets say your in A or Am, your in the box....

    5th fret

counting down from the thicker strings.

    [ ] = String.... Numeral ='s fret. So......the box is.....

    [E] 5, 6, 8, {6} is not really minor
    [A] 5, 7,
    [D) 5, 7,
    [G] 5, 6, 7 {6} is not really minor....
    5, 8,
    [E] 5, 8,

Its also interesting to move in and out of the 7 and 8 frets on [A] and [D].

Then to the "break out" pattern

    [G] 9 ... E note
    8, 10 ....G note and A note.
    [E] 8, 10 .....C Note and D note.

You can use this little pattern to get in and out of "the Box" and is a nice place to start.

The pattern can of course be repeated up and down the neck in the appropriate key. and bend the hell out of them. don't forget the vibrato.....

    OK One More

did this one to demonstrate what lots of headroom can provide. And to point out a few additional points about the blues and their solos in general. Feeling is everything, The title...."The Argument" is just that. I used the different pickup settings and tone controls to set the "woman tone" and to accentuate the Man Tone. See if you can hear the exchange between a man and his lover. These "exchanges" are what is part of the call and response that the blues is based on.

Well done... nice blend of tones and great "exchange". I enjoyed the building tension. It's a shame there weren't another couple dozen bars to take it into frenzy. I could hear where where you were going.

Is that the Haas effect I hear on this track? It definately add some depth to the guitar solo. I liked the call and response take on this, brings the track to life.

I don't know what the Hass effect is???

It has a little chorus, some very "dim" Delay and reverb. The rest is pickup selection and tone control. I,m just grabbing the tone knob and turning it up/down...

    Thanx for the comment! :)

I uploaded mine. It's rough as I just played to whatever came to me. I'm will remove this one once I refine it. Tonight I'm not feeling it. It's on the "group page"..

BTW I'm so jealous of all the others.. I wish I could play or come up with what you guys come up with.

This was played with my 2009 Les Paul Faded Brown with 57's through my HK Tubemeister 18.

You shouldn't be jealous of anything. This is all for fun. Upload anything that comes to mind. It's not a competition or anything, It's fun. That's whats so special about music. We share things with each other and have fun and make friends at the same time :thumb:

Ok I had to look that up. I do know what that is. And its on one of my compositions. (not on purpose) but I heard it and left it because its slightly out of time and slightly out of tune too, it's a different guitar. The song is "Thrust" and you can really hear it on or about :22 seconds into the piece. That's not a Chourus, it the HAAS effect.

    Thanx man!

I'm still planning on submitting a take... haven't had anywhere near as much time to practice as I did last month (and spare time's going to a guitar upgrade).
