Sunday my wife was collecting yard paraphernalia for me to store in the basement in preparation for winter. Houses next to a lake generally have crawlspaces, but we have a partial basement with about 5' of headroom. Not paying attention I didn't bend over enough and whacked the top of my head into a beam, and I moving fast and hit HARD. Thought I was going to pass out. My neck made a huge cracking sound. I had to collect myself for a moment to be sure I didn't pass out and had instant thought of people breaking their neck diving into a shallow pool. The cracking sound was terrifying! Once I was convinced I was conscious, not paralyzed, and the blood wasn't life threatening, something amazing happened. I realized I could move my head around without any neck pain (something chronic I suffer from). It's unbelievable. The pain is gone! Sometimes my wife will walk on my back as part of a massage. It feels good and does seem to help. She offers to crack my neck by twisting my head but I always refuse as it scares the hell out of me. Guess I'll reconsider.
