I was just in a pawn shop I frequent and tjey asked my opinion on a ginson les paul they had. I will try to get pics up but I have no hosting site since photobucket switched. Anyway this les paul looks as if it has been repainted to me. I know gibson made some with flat black paint but this has a bound body and neck. And the paint has some orange peel in it and you can see wood grain. I told the lady I had no clue but it looked like someone stripped and painted it. The binding was perfect though. Did gibson make a flat or matte black (not satin, no shine at all) bound guitar.

If you can see orange peel and it isn't stamped 2nd, I'd venture that it's been repainted and you should beat them up on price and try to snag it for about $1k, provided it isn't a knock off.

The mahogany satins can start to look a little wonky once your forearm starts buffing the finish...

Easiest way to tell visually is by looking for the pores, which are pretty pronounced.

I am fairly confident thats the guitar, orange peel and all lol. They verified serial numbers etc with Gibson so I am sure its authentic . I just have never seen a flat black with binding. I told her from what I am seeing she is toward the high end of resale, but within the range of what I have seen. I try to treat em right because they give me deals constantly... I went today and got the crappy special II they had.. 50 bucks out the door. brought it home and restrung it.. worked over the nut until I got the G string to stay in tune ( a friend has one and said his G string always goes flat.) The nuts on them seem funky to me. I finally got it all working right . it is NOT a good guitar but kinda fun to play. I am used to single coils so the humbuckers have a nice growl to em IMO.

You can paste them straight into your post.

From a phone, or a PC.

Here, I'll do it on a PC. First, a screenshot, then post it...

You can use "upload a file", or you can just go to the full editor, and "CTRL+V" paste right into the post. The editor automatically uploads what's in your clipboard as an image, and inserts it inline with your post.
