Now that's a match Ashbass...
Here's my V2 R0 that looks somewhat similar to the Howard Leese burst.
WOW! One of my all time favorite bursts back to the future!
9 1873 on the left (not an exact match - nor a Historic come to think of it )
Looks like my R909 also.
or 9 0597
I think I own the grand child of the 1959 burst 9 0291 (Vic Dapra's). Mine is a 2003 r9 with braz fret board. Each pic below alternates with the vintage burst, then my guitar. You be the judge!
Pretty sure you've pointed this out a few hundred times already..yes they do look Exactly Alike-Amazing. But i think the Post is "match your Historic to a BOTB from the Book. By the way can you post several more pics of each to compare cuz i'm not sure they match on the bass side. i think i see more mineral streaks on 9 0291
My, aren't we being picky!?!
And just for that, I think I'm just going to have to follow suit and post another non-BOTB vintage guitar comparison with a Historic.
The vintage one's on the top; mine's on the bottom:
Frank, just an amazing guitar!! Great to see it again. Do you have more pics of it somewhere? Which pickups are in it, and do you have some soundbytes?
Was that photo of Page in the pink pants taken at the Rockpile in Toronto?
Wow, my thread is a sticky now? Cool
Wow..! that 2005 R9 is Very NIce
I finally got my copy of BOTB today. Amazing guitars. I came across page 93 (9 1876) & thought my aged Page #1 resembled it a little. Turns out that guitar is also the one on the cover.
Wow, thats right on!
nice width and curve? on the flame. one of my fav's. Tanks
The cover burst, 9 1876, versus my 2009 VOS R9 in iced tea; the sun makes the color more reddish....
