My 04 R9 reminds me of 9 1876 on p 93, but not as faded.
Not in BOTB, but it is the Frehley burst compared to my aged / signed Frehley 59 TH reissue. The coloring on mine is actually very close to the burst; the coloring in the pic is off bc of the coloring on my phone's camera.
Finally got my BOB..so my 2016 "R8" seems to be close to page 20, at least the top. Back color and tuners not so much. No complaints I love this guitar. Interesting though my 2012 R8 is Ice Tea with a flitch matched plain top and the lighter back. This one does not seem to have a match in the book, although it's is similar to a few of the 59's.
Not sure if my R9 matches any of them...
I'd say this one looks pretty close... Page 143, sn 0 1494
Quick glance this one popped up to me. Looks like might be the basis for the G0's too.
Here's my R8
The top on my Vintage Cherry TH59 could quite easily be mistaken for a '58 but is a close match to the '59 owned by Slash on Page 66 of BOTB.
Not spot on but I when I bought this guitar I was drawn to the quality of the flame, and the striking resemblance it had to the cover photo on Beauty Of The Burst...
My new Red Sky CME LP:
After the red fades away more I think it will look strikingly similar. Love this type of flame myself!
My '18 R9 seems to be petty close - 0901
I knew there HAD to be a thread like this. Here is mine (ID’d with the help of fellow MLP’ers)!
9 2180 (“Lorelei”):
9 7760 (my R9 called “Lucky”):
My 2017 R9 in Dirty Lemon:
9-0627 - "The Gruhn Burst", also used for CC #35:
Mine looks like the African Burst, with wide-ish riftsawn flame on the base side, and wispy on the the flatsawn treble side
