I am not trying to bust anyone's chops. Just that this thread was made to compare guitars to the bursts in the book. There are plenty of opportunities to start new threads to post one's guitars. And there are plenty of other threads for "let's see your (fill in the blank) Historics" that would apply to most guitars.

this is the best hardwood floor match Ive seen ;-) kidding. nice pic.
That beast is really nice too. one of the nicest Ive seen.

I wish they had removed a little less finish from the armrest area. The original doesn't look that busted there

I think my 2013 has a bit in common with 9 1982 from BOTB.

Very closely resembles my 2013 R9 pin stripe. Nice guitar.

My 2013 R9, according Gibson, is supposedly a limited special edition rendition from page 53 of the book. It's hard to tell from the photos because I find them to have too much red in them, also, the grain on the R9 (9 0632) on page 53 is not as pronounced as mine. There is another one however on page 23, it's an R8 (8 6730) but it has grain more consistent with mine.

    8 5489 vs. 2009 R8

Before posting something harsh, I know the pattern is not really matching that much but if you look carefully between where your arm rests and above the pickups, there is some resemblance. Also the burst color and the flame looks similar, too.

Basically,if you REALLY want to see it, it is there, hahahaha.

I find that word offensive, Sct! j/k :D

I think I could live with the fact that somebody out there is reminded of a vagina when he looks at the pictures of my guitar.

It's hard to get good pics from a book, but this 59' Burst is 9-2225 page 129 in BOTB, along with my 2013 59' Reissue Borbon Burst.

Not near as good of a match with other Bursts in this thread, but the second 59' Burst serial# 9-0913 on page 75 of BOTB is the closest match to my 2013 R9 that I can find. It sure was fun doing all this though.

Wow. You guys have some great looking Les Paul's. It like taking a trip to Marks guitar loft. I swear I've played a few of these over the years. How many came from Marks?
