Marshall Class 5 combo in perfect condition, with the following mods: Transplanted the head into a larger (16"tall, 18"wide, 11'deep) Blues Breaker style real plywood 12" speaker cab with added Vox style air vents in the top (NOT particle board). Comes with the ideal speaker for a Marshall amp, a 12" English Celestion Vintage 30. The 12" speaker really opens up the tone. I also have a Chinese Greenback that I can interchange if you prefer. (Equal value, IMO) Has newer Mullard and Tungsol 12AX7's in the pre and and a Tungsol EL84 in the output, with a spring tube retainer and rubber tube dampers so no tube rattle issues whatsoever. "Lyle Caldwell" mods (http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/squawk-box/123816-some-mods-marshall-class-5-a.html). The amp now sounds like it should have! Screams at bedroom volume but with out the fizzy crap they originally had, and with maybe a touch more headroom. Sounds like a MARSHALL! If you want "clean", this amp is DEFINITELY not for you.........Has a great slightly over driven tone at lower volumes, and takes pedals EXTREMELY well! Put an overdrive pedal in front and it screams with violin like overdrive and feedback like Hendrix, dial it back for a great bluesy tone...... $499 + shipping or P/U in LA. Great price for an all tube Class A screamer!
