Does any of y'all know if I can remove/change the keys on the stock Chrome Tuners on my LP Jr w/o changing the whole tuner?

I'd like to change to Chrome Keystone Buttons. I'm askin' because I don't see a screw at the top/end of the key.

The Junior's usually have those cheap tuners with the pressed/stamped backs on the body of them, if that's the type you have I doubt it's possible, probably have to change the whole tuner. Many do that anyway, those cheapies are nasty.

Yeah that's kinda what I figured, RaS. Yes they are. I put a new set of tuners on my Dot & they just have a tighter feel to'em.

Was gonna change tuners now but I went ahead & put on a new set of strings. Might swap'em out for a new set next time I change strings.

Finished my EJ project over the weekend.

The inspiration was Jason Aldean's (what looks to be a) modified Gibson New Vintage J-200.

    Thanks, RaS!

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about how it came out. Actually it turned out better than I expected.

Heres my highly modified Dot Studio too... I decided to keep the original look and spirit of the guitar... mods are:
    Black Sperzel tuners
    Black Tonepros tuneomatic and stopbar
    Graphite nut
    Seymour Duncan pickups
    Montreux wiring kit
I painted my own arm tatoo on the guitar belly

Just guessin' but I'd imagine that cost a good bit to have a repair shop replace the headstock, not to mention it'd take away the original "essence" of the guitar.

I would be curious to know if this could be done or if any body has done it.

I found a couple new fishman ellipse onboard pickups on ebay for around $130 & really interested in gettin' one & havin it installed in my EJ.

Couple concerns/questions: can an endpin jack be installed cause the strap button it'd replace is located in a strip of binding? Does anybody know the saddle slot width?

    Thanks

Just finished the final step of my LP Jr mod: replacing the chrome stock tuners w/ black vintage keystones.

Will post before & after pics when I slap some strings on it.

This thread reminds me of a friend of mine that wanted a Ferrari really bad, so he took a Pontiac Fiero and made some weird contraption. He also used to wear blazers like Sonny Crocket from Miami Vice, go figure. Lol.....
