    Thanks for the suggestion/recommendation.
I've contacted'em about gettin' some black Gibson vintage style(small) blocks, the style that's on ES's.

I'm fixin' to change my strings & remove the Block stickers I currently have, the pearloid tint doesn't really mesh w/ the look I'm after now that I've added the pickguard.

You're going to have to add a few new pots and shine it up to a glossy finish too. Just don't add amber knobs.

He wants his guitar to look a certain way...and be honest, it's HIS GUITAR - not yours. So I have to wonder....why do you even care?[/QUOTE]

Because he asked for opinions that's why. :naughty:

My Dot Studio project is inspired by the Gibson ES-335 style.

I don't plan to shine it up, I prefer the dull/matte look over the high gloss look(on guitars or in general).

I removed the black inlays I added because they had a pearloid greenish tint that didn't really blend with the overall look since I added the pickguard.

My Dot is pretty much finished except for replacing the stock tuners(I already replaced the D tuner because it broke off in my hand yesterday).

    Will post final pics later.

Rather than create an entirely new thread I'm just going to shoot this question here:

Where can I buy a cream pickguard and pickup rings for my Epiphone BB3?
I'm also looking for a TRC that says 'Les Paul Black Beauty' instead of 'Les Paul Custom'.

Preferably within the UK as many US sites don't ship worldwide.

This is the look I'm going for, possibly with gold hardware rather than chrome though. (yes I realise this is a Gibson) :)

I'm wanting to remove the stock tuners on my EJ-200 Artist & replace them with the Grover Vintage Deluxe Keystones I got today.

Can anybody give me advice or a link to a good how-to video(I saw 1 on YouTube earlier but can't find it now)?
If it's possible I'd like to do it myself rather than pay a luthier to drill 2 li'l holes(per tuner).

Gotcha Brian but I'm talkin' about the Vintage style plastic Keystones like the ones on Les Pauls & some Gibson Acoustics(I.e. the New Vintage J-200).

I want to move the (neck)strap button on my EJ to the back, can this be easily done or should I let my guitar tech do it?

I looked at the area & it looks like Epi put a hard plastic "cap" on the area, does this affect my option of moving the button.

Thanks paruwi. They have been incredibly helpful in learning the frets.

They came with the Rocksmith game I bought. You can get a set of 2 for cheap on ebay, look up "Rocksmith Fret Markers".

    No need, thanks

I find the frets even when I'm drunken or blind :D

lol, yeah they wouldn't be needed for an experienced player but I just wanted to put that info out there in case a beginner(like myself) wants some.

There should be no trouble moving the strap button, just pre-drill first. But I don't know why, it's a PITA to have them there, it is on my SG styled geets anyway.

Yeah I have heard that's not the preferred location for some.
My Dot has a button in that location & it lets my strap fit more comfortably on my shoulder. The current location causes my strap(I like the wide straps) to ride up on my neck.

So that cap shouldn't cause any problems in drilling/holding the screw?

It's just a thin plastic cover AFAIK, there should be wood directly beneath it.

Ok cool, thanks RaS! Does it matter the location or just center it?
    AFAIK?

Ok, thanks for the info. I kinda figured out what PITA meant :laugh2:.

Will do. Already done. One of the 1st things I did was get rid of the stock buttons & install some Dunlop Strap-locks.

I can always switch back to the original button location if needed, can't I?

    No, I'm in the U.S.
