    Here's the two I've used

    Michigan
    Galloup Guitars
    www.gallouptguitars.com
    10840 Northland Drive
Big Rapids, Michigan MI (USA) 49307
    (800) 278-0089
    bryan@galloupguitars.com

The shop did a bone-nut replacement for me and were awesome all-around; except a mixup that added a couple days to the turnaround. It got me a tour of their shop/school though and the place is amazing.

    Kentucky
    Barney's Guitar Service
    barneysguitarservice.com
    363 Hillcrest Avenue
    Louisville, KY. 40206
    (502) 749-9049
    bill@barneysguitarservice.com

I had a nut replaced by Barney's and the work was fine, but I had mentioned "bone" specifically a number of times and received a plastic nut. He's the only luthier in Louisville that I know though, so I'll probably give him another shot and make sure to be more clear about my request.

Alanoke Guitars, in Visalia California. Owner Gene Simpson is the local factory authorized repair person for Fender, Gibson, Guild, Martin guitars among others. In addition to repairs, he also does restorations as well as custom build acoustic guitars, mandolins, violins and banjos. My Gibby was already a sweet playing guitar before but after Gene did his "magic", it is so much sweeter now.

Doug from Damage Inc, also in Visalia, CA, is a great amplifier technician. He did a great job fixing my '65 Blackface Fender Princeton.

Hey, in Omaha I use Mike Saklar of Drocks guitars. Sorry I dont have a phone number or anything, but anyone in the Omaha area, check him out. I have had him do lots of work on my Epis and he has done the cleanest wiring I have ever seen. He also does great setup work!

Looking for a reputable luthier in Northeast Tennessee. My Les Paul is a beaut, but I think my nut needs filing, and it just doesn't play like it should IMO. Thanks in advance!

he does a good job, but one of the reasons i started to do my own work was b/c of Ed Clark. he takes a long time and isnt too personal, but his fret work is supposed to be superb. he got a compliment by a guy that is very well known for his amazing fret work (sorry forgot his name, begins with an "S" and was based in NYC up until 9/11) so for fret work i would give hima nod if you cant wait.

I've used a few people here in the Houston area but I have to say the best has been Mike Nedd at Nedd Guitars : Professional Repairs and Handcrafted Instruments From simple setups to custom builds his work is fantastic. He's done everything from setups to total refrets for me and I've always been impressed. And I'm a picky mofo, lol.

I've used Ron Pace as well and when he does the work it's good, but I think a lot of his stuff is done by other people in his shop these days. Also his turn around time can sometimes be pretty long, but I know people that swear by him and won't go to anyone else. His website is Guitar Repair Shop in Houston Texas - Pace Guitar Repair - Gibson, Taylor, Fender, Martin Certified

    Hope this helps someone.
