    Hello,
I'm living in an apartment in a different country for university now and couldn't bring anything with me. I've bought a 2018 gibson les paul tribute and would like to buy an amp for up to ~300$, preferably a bit less. I'm looking for an amp that is good for the bedroom only, I will never perform for anything so it will almost exclusively be used on low volume so it needs to sound nice at that level.

    Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Depending on your style, Blackstar ht1R combo w/8" speaker. Also has a nice headphone out

    this.
THR10x if you like metal, THR10C if you are a clean/blues player... nothing better for a small space.

I like the thr10c, I looked up some used ones and the price drops a bit... is there any reason to buy these new?

Pretty hard to beat the Mustang 1 for about $100 for bedroom use. You got just about every tone you'd ask for on tap, headphone ability and usb connectivity. Great little starter amp so wish I kept mine

warranty maybe? might not be able to register the recording software? no clue. I know for me, I wouldn't hesitate buying used... but I bought mine new, and sold it used for only a little less than I bought it new for... I caught it new for 250, and sold it 3 years later for 200... and played it a lot in between... it was still working perfect.

Power supplies tend to go wonky with abuse. Also, always ask GC what their lowest price on these is--I got my THR10C new floor demo for $135 in Independence, MO.

plus one I tried the thr 10C headphones much better than my Katana 50 but even at whisper volume Katana sounded much better to my ear and two thirds the price of the Yamaha

If you want to go the tube route , i can enthusiastically recommend the Laney Ironheart IRT Studio, 3 foot switchable channels, 1 watt or 15 watt operation, reverb , fx loop headphone jack, USB direct record , can run it without a cab connected. Good clean crunch and metal. I got mine used for around $250

Edit: read up a bit and saw you went with the THR10c , congrats ! Great choice.
