Thinking of picking up a Laney IRT15, it can be used at 1w or 15w. Anyone know anything about these amps?

Any advice on a new amp? Looking for low watt fender cleans/jangle with reverb thinking the Blues jr tweed or a reverb deluxe 22 watt. I had a hot rod deville years ago loved the cleans and reverb on it just much too loud for bedroom playing.

I have a Blackheart killer ant thats modded decent break up handles distortion great but the cleans are bleh.

I'm GAS'ing for the Fender Bassbreaker right now. 15W might be okay for your needs, but the 007 7-watt amp might be even better.

Just picked up a Vox AC10C1 in British Racing Green. I'm blown away by the tone. I was expecting a small bedroom amp but this thing packs serious tone and volume. 2 12AX7s and 2 EL84s, Gain, Treble, Bass, Reverb and Master Volume. Also has a 16ohm external out that bypasses the 10" speaker so you can really juice it. Simple and amazing. Great value.

Love VOX tone! But my guess is your amp has two EL84s. If it has EL34s, it aint a low-wattage amp. :thumb:

    One of my favorites.
    Silvertone 1482

Danelectro really knew how to get the most out of a cheap pile of parts. Here's a little Dano made Champ killer DM10 cranked through a 212 cab.

I play often in a duo in small venues, open mic nights - my partner on acoustic and me on my 335. I currently have a Blackstar 5 watt that I put a greenback in, it's nice but lacks a bit of volume (I am always at the top of the headroom, clean channel).
What I want is that classic tone of a valve amp clean with a touch of break up. Needs reverb and simple, great sounds.
All roads seem to lead to a Blues Junior. Am I missing anything in that price range? I want a 12 inch speaker ideally.
I am going to get a Blues Junior aren't I?

Blues Junior is a great amp; it may be perfect for you. For myself, though, I found it to be MUCH louder than I wanted or needed.

    VOX AC10C1
I ultimately traded it for a VOX AC10C1 and the VOX is JUST right for me. Fantastic tone at modest volumes. Not expensive to buy. Of course it has Gain & Master, and reverb.

You should go to stores and play them both.

I'll take a trip out to try some next week, thankfully I think the amp I need is common enough to be stocked most places.

    AVT50.jpg

Not for me, I had a Blews Jr. and moved it on, too sterile
I use a Marshall AVT50, 50 Watt with 12AX7 preamp tube, 2 channel, 12" speaker, CD in Headphone out ---> 1/4" plugs not 1/8th", Emulated line out, FX loop.

They go for around $175 used. This is the later version of the valvestate technology and a very good piece of gear for the price.
I will say that the little fan in them can be noisy, but are easily replaced, or quieted by oiling the bearing.
Also the reverb seems to fail on these but the reverb on the BJ is exceedingly poor as well.....
I disconnected the reverb tank in mine and now, when I turn the reverb knob, I get more presence. I think the amp still adds to the signal, it just doesn't go thru the springs now.

With the BJ you get good cleans, with the AVT50 you get good cleans and Marshall goodness,,,, I'm lust sayin . . . .:slash:
