look at this American Tele

    this is a Tele FAT from 1993. Made in the USA.

    Here you've got some pics. Its only owner sent the guitar to a good friend of mine for a refinish.
    At first it looked like a nice lump of wood.

    Looking more carefully we find a rather annoying surprise: Look at how many pieces of wood FEnder used to build the body!!!! :eek2: shocking eh?!?

    I see only 7 counting the veneers.
    The seams in the waist cut are where the pieces 1 and 2 join.

    my $400 mim tele has a two piece body.

    thats amazing bloody cheap skates.

    the number of pieces doesn't guarantee bad or good tone although the least the number of pieces the better assuiming same wood quality.
    Put it this way I'd rather have a strat that uses 3 pieces of the best alder one can find rather than a one piece body made out of rubbish wood.
