New "Like" system implemented on MyLesPaul.com. Simply click "Like" if you like someone's post. You can also find a thread's "Top" liked posts. Finding the forum's most useful content has never been easier!

Example: Look on the right of this post and notice the "Like" link. Click it if you like my post! :D

In the end, we'll have to keep either the "Thank You" or "Like" feature. I'll let MLP decide which one to keep.

Being able to like any post is better than just thannking the topic starter.
Many times I've wanted to thank someone for a post

There you go Slapshot, I liked your post :D
It now says 'unlike', I guess that is in case you change your mind.

/brags about how the totally awesome, insanely cool admin of his favorite forum laughed at something he said that regarded facebook/

/thinks about creating a Facepaul thread before any other thieving Een-Gu-Loosh bastard does/

Even though I always liked the idea of a thank you post..I think the way it comes out, makes the post cluttered somewhat. If a thread contained many of those, I think it would look messed up.
If a little thumb was shown without the names, maybe that would look better. Just my two cents.

Yeah can the thanks button be added to every post?
Or remove the list of people who liked it?

As much as i think that this is a good idea, I agree with Harmony that it needs to get less cluttered. Maybe it could just say "two people like this" on one side, and you click the text or 'mouse over' to get a list of names

Could also reduce clutter. IF it gets rid of all the +1 posts

If you switch, will we lose our thanks?

I like the Thanks system better. I feel that the "Like" system really does clutter up the posts- also, I doubt the most liked really will be the most useful (if you see what I mean..).

More and more websites are emulating features that facebook has...

    Another one bites the dust...

Seriously, was thanking the OP not enough?

The "Thank You" system works okay if someone creates a very informative thread, then we all thank the OP. But what if someone needs help or asks a question, and then some very helpful gent provides an informative answer somewhere in the thread. There's no way to "thank" that person for answering or helping. And other people can't say "hey, that was helpful to me as well."

So this way you can "Like" someone's post anywhere in the thread to show appreciation. Or that you share the same sentiments, without a bunch of unnecessary "+1" posts taking up space.

    My $0.02.
