Well, here is my Custom. It started its life as 68RI modified onto John Sykes '78 Custom probably at the factory (documentation mentions its) Dirty Fingers PUs, as well as it had the brass nut, Nashville bridge, metallic PU rings and metallized plastics. The metal parts were heavily aged also. When I got it, I changed the PUs onto Lollars, and plastics onto stock Gibson repros, and at this point it was the 1968RI... However I was not yet satisfied yet. The neck started to feel too "shouldered at some point, and the sound was "dead" due to brass nut. So, I decided to send it over to Florian Jaeger for a makeover... The neck was made more round, the bridge was changed Nashville->ABR, nut was made of bone, and of course it was repaint and aged to perfection... (the original paint was very thin though). It came back as PERFECT! The neck fitted like a glove to my hands. It still had the 25mm thickness, but round profile feels 110% right to my hands. The sound was very lively and bright, the effect was spectacular (I suppose this was due to the nut). I also changed the disc-caps onto russian PIOs. The looks, you guys decide! Please enjoy (my fave detail is the psychedelically cracked lacquer at headstock... I suppose yo od mont see those on knife-aged guitars )!
