Just got this baby today, what a dream! '09 Epiphone Korina Flying V
mmm....some nice V's!...i'm currently coveting a Schenker Dean Yin Yang, the Korean one .The killing point is there is a store just around the corner from me who deals in Deans.I'm doomed.
finally played the V with my mega stack of doom... such a great guitar!
Schecter out of my possession, Gibson next on the chopping block to fund something else. Possibly an Orville 57B.
Not a great pic but here are my Gibson V that I modded and refinished in metallic copper and my Epiphone Annihilation V (the first edition).
Is RRRCustom still building guitars? Reason I ask is that I contacted him a while back to get a custom MX built but was ignored.
Yes. He has another one in the works for me and just delivered one to a mutual friend. If you want to pm me your e-mail addy, I can send it to him.
EVO8, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I pretty much always answer email, especially in regards to explorers. We can discuss what you're looking to have built.
Here's my '59 Reissue...
1984 weatherchecked and faded
A Gibson Flying V has been a goal for a long time, but as priorities are family, house, cars etc. and that takes the lot, the economics haven't been there for some years. When I heard and read about the 2016 Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Korina Flying-V, I decided to go for one. The main reason was that this actually is Korina wood all through. Not just the veneer on top and back. Of course this model is also glued pieces, but it's anyway Korina all through. Both body and neck. Not like the earlier models with Mahogany body and neck with just the veneer beeing korina.
Bought it from an internet retailer, and sadly they didn't bother to QC the guitar before shipping, so I've spent some hours on setup and fret-dressing. It's now becoming as close as I can get it to it's potential, and I'm pleased with it.
How does it play? For now through Guitarrig, I'm pleased, but I haven't played it live yet.
My latest V.
