That is sweet!! Is that a Gibson Les Paul Classic?
I think the gold tophat knobs look great on there!
I put 'em on my Epi Vintage Sunburst Plaintop also:
I would also like to point out that I like both plain AND flame tops.
STOP!!!! JUST STOP!! Dice, you and your beautiful guitars, man! You have every LP I have ever wanted (beside R7 Goldtop Darkback). BTW I like plaintops.
I really want to get an R6 or an R7 (undecided on buckers v. 90's) as well. That'll have to wait a few years, though! Thanks, though - I'm done buying guitars for a LONG time!
Bling - that Classic is HOT!
I like the look of hbuckers better, but the sound of p90s is killer! They arev a lot more versatile than I originally suspected. Seymour Duncan makes a hum-cancelling P-90 called the STK-P1, if I recall correctly. DCooper has a vid of him playing an Epi '56 goldtop with them.
I've heard of P100's as well. I'll have to play an R6 before I'd be able to decide for sure. I love P90's in my Deluxe. It'll be a few years, though...
Plus tops FTW
Plain tops are plain, and boring.
Yeah! I love those STK-P1 P90 pickups. They don't sound quite as warm and round as the stock Epiphone P90s, but they have a GREAT sound all their own.

Yeah that's funny! I totally used to think the same thing! Especially about Vintage Sunburst Plain Top Les Pauls.
I thought I would never, ever, ever have any interest in one of those whatsoever!
But the look of 'em grew on me until I just HAD to have one!
I've posted mine so many times, I'm afraid y'all will get sick of it.
BTW it's a plaintop, SuperMonk.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion...
(its just that yours is crap!! )
Thanks! I did the peter green mod (flipped the magnet in the neck pup) then as a finishing touch I put the pickup in reversed... not truly necessary for the mod but most folks do it. i do like the zebras better that way though lol
Yep, 2003 Classic
Just get one of each... There are a few flame-tops I really like but I like almost all plain-tops.
Damn Texas, those are both beautiful!
What kind of guitar are those texas?
On the left he has an R8 ('58 Reissue), and on the right he has an Epiphone Standard + Top (if I'm not mistaken).
This is my baby, bright body, but mellow hardware
i'm a middle of the road guy
Just bought a plus top for my boyfriend. She's a beauty. I like plain tops too but there's just something about that flame that pulls me in...
