While stationed in Korea about 15 years ago I picked up a Les Paul Standard. Recently there has been a buzz in the lower frets. I took it to my local guitar store to ask them if they can help with the problem. They told me it is a truss rod issue, but it is a brass nut and then did not have the correct tool to adjust it without damaging it. I should have asked more questions, but left. Now I want to just buy the right wrench and bring it to them to fix. I live in the middle of nowhere Georgia so my music store options are very limited. Does anyone know the correct size (I am assuming it would be in millimeters). Also, has anyone heard of a brass nut tool VS a non brass nut tool? That was a new one for me. Any additional info would be helpful too (where to purchase...etc).

Thanks for the feedback! Looks like the 2nd rod. I agree that it is BS and I need to find someone that can actually help.

    ^^ See above....:)

Never heard of a 'Brass Nut Tool', sounds like they do have tools but not mechanical ones.

I wouldn't go back if they don't have the right "tool" for the job.

You could also try a deep well socket with a extension, if there's room.

I bet your Epiphone was made by Samick, probably has a long neck tenon too.

I have a Korean Hamer that had the same issue. I got a 7mm tool off of Amazon, it worked great. I know some of the older Ibanez's used a 7mm also.
