The story leaked, it's not from N Korea's media, which simply said he was executed.
Assuming you meant to say "pause", World News is not the source-
BEIJING -- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's powerful uncle was stripped naked, thrown into a cage, and eaten alive by a pack of ravenous dogs, according to a newspaper with close ties to China's ruling Communist Party.
You have no clue.

I'm glad SOMEONE said it!!
North Korea, when they got the bomb, set themselves up to never be attacked.
In order for them to never be attacked, they have to not attack anyone else.
If North Korea can't fight 28,000 USA troops with their ENTIRE army...then what the hell can they do?!
No nuclear power has ever been attacked by a nuclear power...i.e. it's the ultimate in defense.
North Korea and Iran have attacked no one in decades and decades.
A little saber rattling with no action does not make me scared.
Neither one can attack us without COMING to us...
Iran can't even take out Israel...too scared to even lift a finger...
Fear mongering and personal attacks do nothing to make me scared.
Tell me precisely, with facts, why I should be scared of these countries.
Because all nuclear weapons are equal and each country has the same capability, so it all balances out and no one will strike first.
Order your counterfeit Gibsons while you can.....
Any country that attacks with a nuclear weapon will be turned into a ditch.
That's the same reason Kruschev blinked...he could've ditched us once, but we'd have ditched him thrice.
North Korea can't even hit Japan with that thing.
there's a first........
a dog eating a Korean, its usualy the other way round
well..... you're a bit off here..
The US /UN is not scared of North Korea's nuclear weaponry..
The biggest scare is that they might set it off on their own soil.
the probability that they could get the missile to South Korea or Japan is slight at best. There are several options to swat it out of the sky, even if the rocket didn't explode in its launcher.
North Korea simply hasn't been invaded.. because...... they don't matter.
They don't have any strategic resources, they don't control any vital airspace, they don't control and vital shipping lanes.. they don't have anything the free world wants.
That may be changing, however, they are rapidly moving from "don't matter" to "in need of a regime change".
That's kind of my point.
They are irrelevant, to me.
They might kill their own population, but I can't change that. The only way that happens though is if they f up and blow up themselves....
Yay...Regime change! More unfunded war.
No thank you. I liked it when we were a bit more covert about being so imperial.
The stroy should be taken in the context that 'ol uncle Dong, or whatever his name was, was apparently the major conduit for Chinese influence and valuable Chinese concessions inside NK, so the Chinese leadership are pretty pissed at the great leader for executing him, and will bu using their surrogates in state controlled media to put this in as poorer light as possible.
The Mk-9 280 mm (11.02 inch) shell was 54.4 inches long, weighed 803 lb... nuclear shell designed to be fired from a 280 mm canon, developed in the early 1950's was fired and worked - old tech.... if an equivalent type shell was smuggled across our borders and lit off in one of our cities.... who would we turn into a ditch?
We now face nationless enemies.
Makes a pretty big boom too..
I maintain not being scared.
N Korea has done lots of low level attacking, most recently this:
November 23, 2010: North Korea fired artillery at South Korea's Greater Yeonpyeong island in the Yellow Sea and South Korea returned fire. Two South Korean marines and two South Korean civilians were killed, six were seriously wounded, and ten were treated for minor injuries. Approximately seventy South Korean houses were destroyed.
which almost had S Korea retaliating, which would have had N Korea retaliating etc.
And your MAD theory only works with people who are not mad.
I honestly wouldn't put that in the category of attacking.
Did they even set foot into the DMZ?
(Not that I'm saying this isn't horrible. I'm just not ready to start ginning up fear over some backwards country that knows it can't do anything.)
Being scared and threat evaluation may be related by aren't the same.
You are evaluating the threat in conventional terms, nation vs nation. We no longer live in that world. We have nations supporting mutliple stateless organizations to act as pawns. In this scenario, it is very difficult to assign responsibility and retaliate in kind..... like I asked, who are you going to turn into a ditch?
A nuclear shell like the one in the vid, could be smuggled in a coffin sized box.... it's just 800 lbs. Think of the tons of drugs and weapons that make it into the US every year.
That's a good point.
