I have been without a Telecaster for a while so I picked up a couple of bodies and decided to put some Tele's together over the winter. No necks or any other parts at this time, will have to get those as funds permit. Here is whats going on so far.....

White Ash body 6'8oz and Poplar body 4'4oz

Ive got a few coats of Tung Oil on the Ash body, ad I really like the grain. This Tele will probably have Maple neck, black pg, Traditional bridge and a set of A2's in it.

The Poplar body is probably going to get white primer, then creme paint with a clear topcoat and very light relic job. I may end up with a Rosewood board on that one. I have had so many maple necks and thought an ebony or rosewood board might be a nice change of pace.

Always wanted a really light weight Tele and I think this one will fit the bill. I am also considering either a humbucker in the neck or maybe just a simple Esquire, not sure yet but hey that's half the fun trying to figure out what to do. ;)

Thanks, I'm excited. It will give me something to look forward to. It will most likely be after the Holidays before I can get the parts to finish the Ash one, but I am in no rush ;)

    Lol...Sorry Don :D
I love "Alice" my SG, but there's nothing like having a good Tele around. And for what Fender is charging for them now I decided just to put together a couple of my own ;)

Not really fair to compare me to Roman, as he is a Luthier and I am just more of a Tech/Carpenter. He builds his from scratch and I don't, that's why this thread is posted in the Fender section vs the Luthier section. My Tele's do play and sound nice though, and I have never been able to hold on to one for long as people seem to like them ;)

Natural Teles are kick ass! I got one with a maple cap, no binding so you can see it clearly. It has a rosewood board so it's not as nice as yours is gonna be with an all maple neck and board!

Also, great taste on that cream body and black guard. That's my second favorite finish other than the butterscotch.

I saw one in Mary Kay finish, black guard and gold hardware with an ebony board. The thing was to die for! Just the thought of it makes me drool!
