So I visited Sweetwater HQ today.

In the main hall, they had a beat-to-hell Les Paul that was described as Joe Walsh's Les Paul used for Rocky Mountain Way.

    I'd love to play it

Norlin era, no Gibson logo, headstock looks like it was thinned or something, what's its story?

The video neglects to mention that it could be a Standard, which were available by ordering them from Gibby.

Look's like a typical LP of that day, Pickup covers pulled, custom truss rod cover, custom P-chip,
possible refinish. Workingman's axe..... I'd rock it.

Video: No look at the (or absence of) serial number...

It somehow makes me sad to see such a fine guitar being confined to a glass case.
It should be out there making music. Or noise. Whatever.

And yes, I would totally rock it!

I believe that Guitar was what motivated me to trade my Cherry Deluxe for a '76 Tobacco Standard...in early 1977.The Standard i chose was very close in appearance to that guitar, especially the 3-piece top...note the wide binding in chasenblues pic post.. and i was completely enthralled with his live album.

Not immune to hero worship when i was starting my long journey to learn to play guitar, and it has been a long one.No wonder so many people call it quits, its not an easy instrument.

Is it just me or does that remastered version sound like crap? Too harsh for my ears. In any event, Joe Walsh? I love that crazy bastard.

Don't know if this is the same guitar or not, got covers on the pickups, he definitely was emotionally invested in his playing.
