I like to play my acoustic-electric through my Blue Angel on it's 6v6 tubes...with a tubescreamer in the chain. Does that mean I'm no good?

Wish Joe would get in here for some Friday magic, damn it.

He's probably a lot busier than I am at the moment, though.

That looks like car lot or an aerial view of the Hyundai factory.

I've seen it in Stoner music, Hippie music, Prog-Metal and Doom/Sludge metal, College/Hipster playing a Jazzmaster music,..all kinds. They stand there looking down and not moving.

    From Wikipedia

The term "shoegazing" was coined by the British music press to ridicule the stage presence of a wave of groups who stood still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state, often with their heads down; the heavy use of effects pedals meant the performers were often looking down at their feet during concerts.

Probably means you're deaf from the feedback.

    Hold on --

PROBABLY MEANS YOU'RE DEAF FROM THE FEEDBACK.

Back in the late 80s -- early 90s, "shoegazer bands" were pop/rock groups usually from the UK's Midlands that featured effects-heavy, dreamy guitar textures. I thought the Sundays did some good stuff.

When you play that fast, the effects don't have time to do their work. Ergo, he plugs straight-in.

you play and then wait for the space time continuum to catch up,...it's like a Doppler effect.

you play and put the guitar down and start walking away,..then the Langolier-Notes start flying through the air attacking people.

It's amazing sht,...truly. No pedals required.

Whatever floats your boat is cool beans with me....

That being said, I just don't care to listen to folks that wet down their signal to the point you can't tell the difference between a Lester and a twelve dollar ZimGar with phrasing like a chainsaw tossed in for good measure.... They can do what they want but I won't be listening to them....

I do enjoy listening to JoBo and his acoustic shows are badass too... To each his own...

I really enjoy listening to folks like Jack Pearson with his Squiers plugged into a Fender amp.... Robben with a Lester or his Flame (or about anything) through an old Fender.... I'd listen to The Luke playing a damn Formica guitar through a Pignose...or Skunk... Barry Freaking Bailey and his old Deluxe through an Echoplex into that old raggedy Marshall is like your first taste of cake... Warren Haynes is a badass.... Nalls (RIP), Talton, Dudek.... Hell yeah....

JoBo's band is damn killer to the max! I'd pay to hear them live too...

Thats what I thought about him too until I heard this which showed me he could play with feeling.

    Then maybe it’s the Tele?

A lot of Joe bashing here.
If the OP is an actual quote from Joe, I'd like to see it in context from the entire conversation.

I think Joe is one of those players that really shines when he plays live.
It's like the Dave Matthews Band for me. Aside from when a new release comes out, I ONLY list to DMB live. With both Joe and DMB, their studio stuff sounds almost stale compared to the live stuff.

Recently I watched a few YouTube vids of Joe and Samantha Fish. Great stuff.

All icing, no cake makes for an unhappy stomach.

On the other hand, a little of this herb and that spice can make a stew really engaging.
