Nothing wrong with using as many pedals as you want. Play whatever you like, simple or complicated, fast or slow, pedals or no pedals. Find the sound you like and do your own thing. It's music. Throw "rules" out the window.
people say Armani like it's a bad thing? ...Asian chick w/ Cello is hot. I got no dog in this fight. ....I do have like 5 Overdrive pedals though.
you can't beat an Ibanez Tube Screamer for getting your solo to punch through a band mix. ..the rest are for fun mostly. Though I do need a pedal for extreme 'metal' gain.
Yes indeed. Out of the bag of dirt boxes I have 9 chances out of ten if I use any, it's the Maxon OD 808 I've got.
I’d also like to add that anyone who can be insulted by what other musicians play has achieved a level of grumpiness most can only dream of. It’ll be like Dave drawing the short straw and having to slice and serve the cake at the meetup. “No, can I please have a corner piece?” “There’s only 4 corners, and there’s a hundred people, so’ll you get what you get.” “But aren’t they first come, first serve?” “Not if I say they aren’t.” “What’s the big deal?” “Look, do you want to do this? Because you can totally do this. Really.... I won’t mind.” “Nah!! You’re doing great, buddy! Can I come back for seconds?” “Grrrrr.....”
Dude! A cake shaped like Rosie!! He’d probably beat it to death with his fists, and we wouldn’t get any. Besides, a Rosie cake wouldn’t have any corners.
Not making this about Joe- but it takes a ton of talent to do something interesting within the confines of three chords.
More fun, it's a round cake but you keep asking for a corner piece. "How 'bout now?" "No." "How 'bout now?" "No." "How 'bout now?" "No."
No disagreement from me there! Look at all the talent that must be out there in the world of R&R... 90% of the songs are three-chord wonders, most of which have FX in them I dig Joe, don't get me wrong. But, his shit does get boring after a short while.
I was referring to older blues music mainly, but your point is well taken. Page and Hendrix obviously fully utilized all effects available!
that quote of his pissing people off is pretty Rock N Roll. ....good...goood.......let the hate flow through you
Look I love Joe, but he does have a nerve saying chit like this. It's like, do you remember his rig before he went to just the tweeds? It was more complicated than the Edge's! AND hes using like 20 tweeds at the same time now too.. I REALLY hope Joe comes on this thread and just slays us all!
