I get it brother. No need to explain to me. We all like who we like. Clapton is my guy. Has been since growing up with my dad listening to him, cream, dominos etc. A lot of people hate him. Doesn't bother me. Rock on

'Satisfaction' would have sounded SO much better if Keef had just used an acoustic instead of that damn fuzz guitar!
And as has been repeatedly mentioned: what a waste of time that Jimi Hendrix was with his naughty childhish wah-wah and phasing. Silly boy.

I play with a delay that's on all the time in the fx loop, Joe. And I have a board of several boutique pedals. That I never use. You have a pedal board bigger than my spot on stage. Wtf are you talking about? You need to get back to basics, and listen to yourself talk. Or maybe just shut up and play.

    Meh! :laugh2:

I read his statement. Seems to me that he was speaking mainly of those who tend to use effects in lieu of skilled playing, or those who use pedals to cover the fact that they can't play worth a shit. I think that's what his remark regarding "playing an acoustic guitar" was all about.

I didn't see it as him saying that anybody who uses or has ever used a pedal is some kind of hack.

I find the outrage in this thread to be very amusing, and quite telling as well. :hmm:

    Good going, Therm
... that university professor dork and his comments in reference to the Beatles that you posted about some months ago failed to get people riled, but this latest thing actually poked some of these people enough to piss them right off! :applause:

But no matter how I (or anybody else) feels about Joe B's music, it remains to be said: at least I've actually heard of Mr. Bonamassa outside of this website.

The rest of us? Not so much. :D

    More distressingly still, regarding Jimi...

:thumb: NONE of his pedals were true bypass :laugh2:

    What can I say...
In between playing stuff, I check out the odd music comic or guitar rag on line.
Very, but VERY occasionally, I see something that piques my interest.
And then I wonder what the MLP crew would think about it.
I sure as heck don't do it to "rile" people at MLP up...
...shoot, that would just be TOO easy here :cool2:

Sometimes some things force folks to look in a mirror, Thermi. Many can't handle that.
That's when the knives come out...

    Just sayin...

Whose to say what "skill" is?
srsly, I know joe can play in a way I can onlt dream of, but if I was on a road trip I would
listen to St. Vincent way before that stuff. Its all good. Play what you wanna play. Thats
what its all about. As an old school graphic artist, I used to think the same way about
computer art. It is NOT art. Period. But after I got over losing lots of jobs to computer
artists and embraced it, I learned there is a whole new world out there.
Caddies dont have fins anymore and a real live man walked on the moon. It was cool.

He went electric with a huge pedal board in his later days.
