Page's Custom was custom wired. There was an on/off switch for each pickup

I'm sure we can expect full disclosure on the whole story from Jimmy when the time comes.

Geese I go away for one blooming week and Pageys custom is found!

That's pretty cool, I'd pay to read the full story!

I wonder if he's having it restored before presenting it with the full story. It might have been in pretty poor shape.

I'm still betting the first we see of its return is via Ross Halfin. He is Jimmy's friend and almost exclusive photographer in recent years. May wanna keep an eye on his website.

According to an article from 1966 - the year of Bluesbreakers - in London Bursts were going for a whopping 300 pounds but a Custom would fetch over 500, thanks to Pagey's rep.

Jimmy's guitars are getting older and his girlfriends are getting younger.

Girlfriends are getting younger? That chick could be a grandmother to some of Page's girlfriends.

One thing I think everyone is over looking is that this guitar should actually weigh much less than a stock three pickup Custom. There are concert photo's showing that much of the back of this guitar was hogged out from the various mods done to it. Even more so than the Les Paul Deluxe, Roger Daltrey hogged the back out for Pete Townshend trying to save him some weight.

As Iconic as this guitar is the photo's capturing the opened up back are pretty ugly. It looks much like a chambered Les Paul without the back. Center strip for the pickups but the control cavity is fully visible. I remember hearing an old interview with Jimmy from the early 70's where he says that adding the Bigsby killed the tone of the guitar. He stated it sound much better without it. Even so I am sure he is happy to have it back.

I believe you can find the photo's if you go to the section here on Jimmy's guitars there was a link and you can see the back of the guitar. They are black and white photo's.

I think you may be confusing the two guitars . I've never seen pictures of the back of the custom. Also, the black custom was stock with a bigsby . There are plenty of photos of the back of the b bender deluxe les Paul and an interview where Jimmy states that it "killed" the tone of the guitar when adding the b bender . I could be mistaken though...

You are mistaken. You are referring to the Les Paul that he had the B bender added to which required extensive routing. His custom black beauty is stock with the bigsby. And i spoke to Joe Jammer who did the three switch mod for Jimmy in early '70. Two extra toggles were added which required some minimal routing in the switch area. By the way he also said that the three switches simply act as on/off switches for the three pickups.
