I've really got it bad for this baby and my OCD induced GAS pains are not helping one bit. Has anyone had any experience with it? It's seems to me to be a real dream machine.

Slightly Aged '57 LP True Historic Reissue

The binding and inlay color KILLS me.

Does anyone know what year they started aging the binding?

If you notice the fret board binding that is exposed along the edge is bright white, the only part that is yellowed is where the nitro clear coat that covers it.
It is the nitro clear coat that has a tint that gives the appearance of aging.....true to life though, the binding on Les Paul Customs is white and it's the nitro clear coat that ages and yellows and when it chips it's white underneath.
These '57 BB reissues are truly awesome guitars.

@frozenotter Geez, I had a near coronary because I did not see that Sunrise Tea Burst in your list (until I read it slowly) :Ohno:

Oh ...hheall no. She still there. Of course I may have to make a sacrifice if I end up with the '57. :wow:

No... still in dream land currently. Very tempting but it would have to wait a little time anyway. :(

    (Mr. Enabler)

    Exactly! I'm like: :hyper:

You can always go for the poor man's version and find a '07 Classic Custom. It's got the aged yellowed binding all the way around and real ebony. Gold hardware tho. But it might ease the GAS a little for less than half the price:

    I've got the same guitar.

2015. If you like big, huge, full sounding Les Pauls, with fat chunky necks, you should like it.

It doesn't sound, nor play really like any other LP I own. I love playing it... though the $$$ is always on my mind, especially when I've got a multitude of other LPs to play. Its not my #1. My '68 RI is #1.

But, the TH is a special guitar. It oozes all kinds of mojo, or whatever you want to call it.

Nice! Not exactly "poor man", as I looked at a few of these. They too will leave the bank account quite battered. :)

The thought of dropping nearly 8K for this really makes me want to vomit though. I have to actually wait for the right one to come up a few years old this time. This is like guitar acquisition blue-balls though.

Maybe Donal will just offer up his goltop custom at a steep MLP member discount price. :naughty:

What are the differences in the 68 RI and this, other than cosmetic.
When I can afford my next guitar, both of these are on my radar.

Yep, I just scored one of these a few weeks ago...seriously killer guitar. Love it. And would be a good alternative to spending the big $ on the THR... AND you get a real ebony board (ie, not Richlite).

WOW, 8K - that`s a lot of Les Pauls, I mean you could get 4 or 5 nice ones for that money ...... the more I think about it the more ridiculous it sounds. My last purchase was two Les Pauls and I paid 3600 Swiss Francs (so about the same in USD) for my Custom and my 17 Standard HP all together.

I would if it wern`t for all the CITES paperwork we would have to go through :D

Edit: I still can`t get over the 8K, I mean it is georgious but there is no way I would ever spend 8K on a guitar (please don`t hold me to this statement as one never knows).
