    For the same reason that there are so many fake Epiphones.

    If a counterfeiter builds a guitar that's seen as not being worth faking, everybody is going to assume the fake is legit, aren't they?

    Fair point. I'm clearly not cut out for the life of a counterfeiter...

    Try them out and see which one you like best - buy that one.

    If you can't try out both, try out one you can. Don't buy a guitar if you don't know you like it.

    I bought the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop. It is amazing!
    It sounds great, I love the looks and it plays really smooth!
