I'm based in the UK and have been reading stuff on this forum for a while and finally registered. I have a couple of Les Pauls the first of which I bought in 1989 and the second was last year. One is a 70's three pick up Wine Red Custom and the latter is a Tobacco 1991 Standard. I was younger when I bought my first Les Paul than the difference in time between the first one and the second but in all that time my love of these guitars has not diminished. In fact my newly found local guitar shop has a couple in right now and it's only a matter of time... I won't mention the name of the shop as in a first post it'll look like an advert but the story is I saved for the red guitar for a while as a teenager and then subsequently gigged it a bit and wrecked it and as of '92 or so it needed going through and got put away until the back end of 2010 when a new guitar shop opened near home. I asked the proprieter if he could have a look at it and he subsequently did a very good job of the electrics whilst cleaning up the thing nicely but retaining all the patina. It got me back into playing and now I'm building up some stomp boxes and generally enjoying playing guitars again. There's some gaps in the story but not wishing to go on... Hello.
