Science says insects are dying at an alarming rate world wide. They say that 40% of all insects could be gone in just a few decades.
They stated the use of pesticides and climate change are a few of the reasons. If that is true it could have catastrophic effects. We need to start paying attention and shout down those fools that say otherwise for the sake of money.

Additionally, they are developing huge robotic mining machine to mine the Oceans of the world for minerials and precious metals all in the name of cash. Can you imagine the damage to sea life ? Would corperations really care ? Hide the effects of their damage ? and now we're headed for the moon and beyond for the very same reason ? Really ?
What human beings don't get is, once all the trees and animals are gone we're right behind them ..

    People need to wake up

We aren't gonna stop. Our time is 'too important' to be thinking ahead. Other generations sent their boys to war, lived under rations, sacrificed everything for a better life. We don't want to give up V8's as commuter cars.

Forests are 'carbon sinks'. They aren't after clear-cutting and no plans to replant.

Not when they clear massive areas in South America for various reasons and the pursuit of Gold. Thats BS.
You ever seen clear cuts ? Close up ?
They're a scar. Now they're covered with little Christmas trees and the diversity of the forest is no longer.
All that is left are stubs that look like grave stones. I've seen it in Oregon. My guess is you haven't.

You've obviously never driven coast to coast. More trees than people. By a huge margin.

Wildlife tends to thrive in new growth, not old growth forests.

See Froggy's post above. Forests that burn down due to arid conditions also don't grow back. The planet is rapidly losing it's forests, not gaining in them.

Unfortunately it's not a right vs left issue. This is going to affect everybody.

Yeah... I should have known better than casual interaction when flaming outrage is present. This thread needs some DDT.

You sir are correct. But its those that don't believe that are the problem. I lived in and come from areas that have been effected and i live in the Rockies. I've got a pretty good idea of what i speak. Most city folks don't have a clue what is going on out there nor care. Thats like saying the invasive species in Florida are not a big deal. Good day gentlemen.

This, right here. Regions of Canada are undergoing profound change. We ignore at our peril.
