I've read and learned here for years--thanks for all the awesome content, from discussions of technical details, to the sagas of restorations or conversions, to the occasional epic Burst safari story, to links to examples of good playing. So let me step out of the shadows and belly up to the bar...

I've played guitar for about 20 years, slowly progressing on that never-finished journey but enjoying every note. I am also a songwriter and singer.

I love guitars of all types, though focusing mostly on Gibsons and Fenders in electrics. I have put a couple of Teles and Strats together from parts, and learned to do some repairs and solder electronics. My LP collection is certainly modest, but I do know enough to post pics, and proudly!

About the guitars. Both were problem guitars that I picked up on Ebay. The 2007 Studio ("Black Bart") reeked of tobacco smoke, had buzzy electronics, and was missing knobs--all fixed--but had cool pickup upgrades (JB SH-4 and Dimarzio Bluesbucker). The 2001 Junior ("Chip") had similar issues. Fixed and playing and sounding great.

Thanks, they are nice, genuine, 'rock band' relics. They should hold me as I work toward the perfect LP Standard... :fingersx:

Thanks, Donal, I'm trying to keep the collection tight--but as my sons grow up and move out, the eldest taking his guitars with him, methinks there will be room and hopefully budget for a couple more...

Pop1655, what a nice trio of 335-types (what's the black fella in the middle?). My interest in the 335 has been revived by watching JD Simo videos, though the closest I have to one is an ES-137 Classic, with 57/57+ pups.

Another sorta close, but really a different animal, is a cherry '65 Silvertone thinline hollowbody with three D'Armond pups.
