Oh yes, Reverb has been very helpful, and they are involved and the ball is rolling, but the seller tells me he needs more photos for his claim, there goes another day...

Another know it all. I'm not going to argue with you. You do it your way, I'll do it mine. I know my way works so I'll stick with it.:)

    Good luck.

Just to be clear guys, this guitar fits extremely snug in the case, the is no movement whatsoever, and I do understand your point when the guitar has any freedom to move that damage like this can happen.

Maybe it's just the way you're saying it but the neck near the headstock needs to be cushioned and supported so it can't move. The headstock itself should touch nothing & not be able to contact anything in the case of a shock, hence fxiing the position of the neck area just below the headstock. That's why the support is there, it's just not tight enough to stop movement during shipping. Wrapping stuff around the headstock will simply add weight to it and if bulky enough may defeat the purpose by building the size up enough that it will bang against the top or bottom of the case during a shock.

Charge back and have him send a return label. Let him take the pictures for a claim when he gets it back.

There should be nothing touching underneath the headstock itself, but padding around the support that holds the neck near the headstock is a good idea to prevent movement of the guitar.

Sorry that you're having to deal with this, OP. That sucks.

I have been looking at a brand new HD28 at a local music store, it is reasonable price for a brand new guitar... but, hard sometimes to justify spending so much for a new or any instrument. I may not have a choice for a guitar like this.. I have opened a dispute with Paypal as the seller seems to be wasting my time. I really do like the HD28 though.. I should just go and buy it! He offered it to me for $2,399 as $2,849 is MSRP

I just shipped two via Fed Ex (the buyers request).
Their rules were I couldn't seal the box until they approved the packing. (I used 75' of large bubble wrap for two guitars.)
Then, if the box is undamaged they might refuse the claim.
I argued that a box could fall 20' on to a flat side and be undamaged, but the contents took a 50 G load.
I made sure the guitar couldn't move inside the hard case, but the head was free. I packed extra bubble above the horns and under the tail. Then extra on top.
Luckily, mine arrived fine, what a pain packing to ship is, I'm glad I usually buy.

I actually lost money on shipping with the bubble wrap, boxes, tape, and shipping.

What a shame that happened to such a nice guitar. I really feel bad for you

Please DON'T believe that or worse.... Profess that in writing to the Universe!

The Universe brings what we focus on and expect.

    From now on... POSITIVE ONLY!

And at least, this is easily NOT your break! It's his! And he shipped it that way to boot!

Next time... Nothing but the best! :fingersx:

Thank you for your positive spirit.. that is something I need to tell myself more "Be Positive"! as I can be a negative cynical person sometimes.. He is still trying to find a way to blame it on shipping, he has forced me to file a dispute and claim with Paypal. I have sent him many detailed pictures, and he is still stalling...

    Question...

Did any of the pictures from the listing show the break?

    Or the description mention it?

    Good for you!

Keep wearing him down! He'll get what he deserves, thanks to good people like you! :thumb:

Take it as far as you have to. And if he doesn't like it, well, he's in control of how far you have to take it, to get it RIGHT!

    Fight the GOOD fight! :D

    Take no prisoners!

No mentions of anything, listed as mint I specifically asked about cracks, claimed it was his guitar, and it was perfect.

It takes a special kind of assh*le to ship a damaged guitar to somebody.

This guy is really pushing me too! I had to bring it to USPS today to have them inspect it, they confirmed with a letter that shipping did not cause the damage. I now have to get the guitar appraised by a third party. Not only does he sell me a guitar not as described (Perfect condition - mint), but is was beat, dented and cracked, then makes me go through friggin' hoops to get a refund and return shipping address etc. Really aggravated with the whole thing! GRR!
