I guess I may be an Amp Cork Sniffer but Solid State amps sound Horrible to me...

It's worth pointing out that most of us hear the comparisons on computer speakers, playing to the modelers' strengths. In the room with the amp/monitor might have a different outcome.
Not a huge thing, but something to consider.
Modelers that you hear online are recorded direct.
Even Pete's videos, using the best of what's available, are played back through our speakers. My listening stuff isn't great, and listening to SRV with his Dumbles would sound "meh" to me, compared to Nick Jonas playing that solo through my Marshall in the room with me.
Just something to add to your filter.

Why I included the Capt and Chappers vid (one of the non embedders). They were in the room with both the amp and kemper, playing both, and couldn't tell em apart and generally liked the Kemper tone and feel better.

Cool. I haven't listened to hem all, and would have to take their word on it, since obviously I'd still be listening on a computer. But it's cool that they did it.
Anyway, I really need to put my wetsuit on before the wind comes up. I've been farting around on MLP when I should have paddled out 2hrs ago.

Most SS amps do suk, but for a clean tone some are great , I like the old red knob Fender chorus combo, used one in the shop for years.

The first time I switched from modeling/solid state over to tube amps, that was game over for me. Only tubes for me and I will not go back ever again. Tubes for the rest of my life.

Anyone tried the Roland BluesCube before writing off solid state amps?

That's the ironic thing which I think you misunderstood about the DS1. The Amp made the distortion sound fizzy not the pedal.. I use the DS1 with my tube amps for distortion (Except my Marshall which doesn't need it....) and the DS1 sounds amazing! The culprit for the fizz was only the Solid state amp..

I don't necessarily think that preferring tube amps is cork sniffery.

It's cork sniffery if you think you're better than solid state & modellers.

I did not infer that from your post. Seems like you just prefer tibe amps. And I'm there with you, my Friend.

While Ive been a tube amp guy for many years, back in the day I had a Kustom 200 SS amp that just killed it. Damndest thing about gear, one guy can sound like ass and cant stand it for his playing style so he sells it. The guy who buys said gear ends up just making it sing.....

Ive told this story more than once on here, however, it needs to be told again.

Went to an open mic/blues jam at a nearby watering hole. It was me and a a couple of regular ole farts like me in there with a tube amp and a guitar, doing what we do best these days(trying to relive them glory years with the chicks, but, now its that they are moms and grandmas and, well, you get the picture). Anyhow, this young dude came in with a no-name strat copy, one of them old Crate SS black jobbers from the 90's I believe and Tube Screamer. Not one of the reissues mind you,one of them plastic ones that looked like a big beetle.
Im here to tell ya,after that young man plugged in and started playing,it sure wiped the ole smug looks right off the faces, mine too. He was just killing it and sounded better than all of us put together. Im guessing that set-up was all he had or could afford and by god he learned to make it do what he wanted.
I guess my point being, what works for you, well,it works for you, brother. You just never know....:hippie:
