I picked up two Splawn heads recently. One I found on reverb at a really good price and one that I picked up in trade.... these are great amps especially in the used market...

The white one is a Quick Rod that I picked up on reverb.

The other is a Nitro with KT88s. Picked it up in trade with the 1960AV for my Mark V amp head.. I’m really digging both of them..the Nitro head looks fresh out of the box new.

If ya come across one locally, they’re worth a try. The Quick Rod is more of a Hotrod JCM800 and the Nitro is voiced for more of a modern high gain tone.. the cleans on both are really really good. Now I just need to get reverb pedal.. may look into an all in one reverb/modulation pedal. Not really wanting a processor so much but more of a traditional pedal.. anyhow.. I thought I did okay on the trade. Later on id like to get another Mesa Mark IV head.

They’re really good amps for the money especially second hand. they’re made in North Carolina.. if ya google them, ya will see a wide variety of tolex and layout options.. built to your taste. These are switchable from 50w to 100w. Also has a knob on the back to run 4-8-16ohms depending on your cab needs.

That white one is nice! I always keep an eye out for purple quick rods. There's one out there now but the guy wants way too much for it.

    Congrats.

I’ll work on making one Sunday ... until then.. here’s a shot of them both together .. I guess “bedroom volume” is a term used loosely in mine lol

One day I’ll learn to play lmao ... I can play pretty decent but there’s always room for improvement.. mainly wanna work on my soloing skills.. it’s one are I’ve always neglected to put an time into. Mostly focused on rhythm parts of songs since solos can’t carry a whole song.. people wanna hear a song, gotta know the basis of the song. One day I’ll get the knack for it.. I dabble in it.. figure out simple ones. I’ve always had the ability to pick up songs fairly easily. I go to tab when I get stumped but I seem to learn the quickest by watching someone in front of me playing the riff or whatever ...

Nice set up man! Hey the rhythm part is the most important! If you think about it, most of the great guitarists we all love mainly played rhythm because they play actual songs (think about what a monster rhythm player Hendrix was or Jimmy Page!)

LOVE IT! it's got that great growl, love the little VH at the end too! Hmmm I have been holding out for BE-50, but I might have to think about it.

Well if even you bought a brand new one.. ya lookin at around $2k..it’s a hell of a deal..and if ya don’t need the full 100w.. just flip the switch on the back to half power.. there’s plenty of gain and it’s crisp.. if that makes sense. It’s not forgiving either.. ya can’t hide your lack of skills under the blanket of the gain being poured on
