Since my special order neck was made incorrectly, I went on the hunt for another neck. I finally found something that I like at WD however the neck that I was wanting has been on back order for some time. In any case, they do have another neck that will work just as well so I'm going to go with that. :thumb:

So, it's been an interesting journey with the neck for my SRV project (to say the least). Anyways, I am happy to finally be able to say that with the help of j.six ("Sully"), I can complete my guitar. Here's a few updated pics.

I just need to install the tuners and the nut and then string it up and all will be good.

Well, it's basically complete (minus the headstock decals). I'll try and get some better pics of it in the natural light! I've played it quite a bit tonight and I honestly couldn't be happier!

Nicely done. Love the tint on the neck. Bet it'll look awsome with the decals on it.

Thanks Jonesy! Much to my surprise, I put it all together and it plays/sounds phenomenal. I'm still thinking though that maybe Casey and I ought to make a trip North for a day and see if a certain somebody can wring a little extra SRV mojo out of it? :thumb:

Sometimes they just go together nice like that. You guys are welcome here anytime. I'll take you to "Mexi-Lindo" (the Mexican place) for lunch, they have great food. ;)

Thanks Drake! The neck is probably my favorite part of the guitar! I was going to put the decals on but I didn't have any clear Nitro immediately available and I was anxious to play the guitar so I threw it all together. I'm thinking that I'll do the decals next weekend.

    Looks lovely!

I bet it's a lovely feeling that you've made something by yourself and that's an individual instrument. Nobody will make the exact same guitar, with the exact same passion as some guy knocking together a guitar especially for themselves!

Absolutely! Couldn't be happier with the way it turned out! :thumb:

I got around to putting the decals on tonight so the guitar is pretty much finished. I'm off to California for a week so the guitar is going to spend some time at it's second home (Greasebox's place). :hmm: Place your bets on whether or not I get it back when I come home! :laugh2:

Looks great Hyper, but now you need to hook a log chain on it behind your truck and drag it down a gravel road for about half a mile :naughty::laugh2:

And even then that might be a light relic compared to the real deal. Here's a pic of old Number One still in pretty good condition.
