hey guys, I'm installing this humbucker and the schematics say that there should be 4 wires.

Red , green, white, black, and a "shielded"

But as you can see, there is only the braided shield and one wire inside that. I already cut off a small portion to see if they were hiding inside but there isn't any other wires in there.

Is that wire considered the "red"? And the braided shield the "ground"?

That is 'single' conductor. There is nothing to say any pickup 'should' come with 4 wires. You just need to check a schematic that covers the original braided conductor wiring that humbuckers came with for the first 30years of their existence.
