I have read that they were making 500-1000 of each finish, but lately I can't find anything on a production number.

Perhaps since these were so popular, a re-definition of the term "limited edition" was done. They probably upped the number made.

Yes they probably did just that, but it would be nice to hear it from the
    manufacture:)

They are limited until the 1st run is sold out, then the 2nd run, then the 3rd...

at least that's how it was in the past with other 'limited' models

you need to understand, :jb: needs the $$

Do you want one or not? If you do, find an Epiphone dealer and buy one. I saw one go mint/used recently for under $700.

It's an incredible guitar. The pickup is AlNiCo.

i was curious myself but it really doesnt matter either way....it is not going to be a museum piece even if there were only 300 which i am sure they have blown by that number

and the other side of the coin if they produce a zillion of em, you can prolly pick up a second one on the used market at a decent price in a few years so you can have a matched set of sunburst and gold...:fingersx:

my sunburst feels and sounds great, no complaints at all..

and i am sure in a few months time maybe your question will be answered...have fun with it!

Got this reply from Gibson Europe:

    "Dear Anders,

Thank you for your interest in Gibson Brands. Production totals are not available for release and are generally kept confidentially unless the limited run total is publicly announced on web page, accompanying COA, or other documentation.

The total production numbers of the Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa "Treasure" Firebird-I™ Outfit have not been announced, and we unfortunately do not have them available for you.

    Kind regards,

    Boris | Customer Service

    Gibson Europe"

LTD these days is most of the time just a marketing hype. Everything it's theoretically a LTD, even a Gibson Standard 2017 produced on a massive scale, since its production will stop some day to introduce the 2018 version. :)
